Casa Cicca Museum nasce il 12.12.12, a Porta Cicca, nella dimora della leggendaria mistress Deborah the Queen, una delle storiche case chiuse della zona sud di Milano, Porta Cicca. Inizialmente adottata da Giulia Currà come casa privata, assume valore museale negli anni, attraverso sofisticati attraversamenti di artistx che hanno fatto propria l’idea di essere parte di una storia contribuendo a comporre una vera e propria collezione oggi aperta al pubblico.

Casa Cicca Museum was born on 12.12.12, in Porta Cicca, in the legendary home of the mistress Deborah the Queen, one of the historic whorehouse nest of migration stories and survival strategies, in the south of Milan area. Initially adopted by Giulia Currà as a private house, it has become a museum over the years, through sophisticated crossings of artists who have made their own the idea of being part of story, contributing to compose a real collection now open to the public.

Casa Cicca Museum #3 / via Arquà, Milano / work in progress
Durante il periodo del primo lockdown, Casa Cicca Museum ha continuato a lavorare. Usare questo momento così delicato è stato cruciale per capire quanto fosse importante portare avanti lo sviluppo di una casa e di un museo pronti a prendersi cura di arte e corpi.
La casa, per questo motivo, ha deciso di istituire un concorso interno per la progettazione della terza sede in via Arquà a Milano, che ha portato a scegliere figure radicali della scena contemporanea italiana.
Casa Cicca Museum ringrazia pubblicamente entrambi i collettivi scelti per aver deciso di lavorare a questo progetto durante una fase di grande trasformazione con delicatezza, attenzione e studio delle necessità che spingono Casa Cicca Museum ad esistere come forma di resistenza culturale.

During the first lockdown, Casa Cicca Museum continued to work. Using this delicate moment was crucial to understand how important it is to continue the development of a house and a museum that have to be ready to 'take care' of art and bodies.
For this reason, the house decided to organize an internal competition for the interiors deisgn of the third location in via Arquà, Milan. The contest led to choose radical figures from the Italian contemporary scene, thanks to a close knowledge of their visions and sensibilities.
Casa Cicca Museum would like to thank both the chosen collectives for having decided to work on this project during a period of tough transformation, with delicacy, attention and study of the needs that support Casa Cicca Museum to exist as a form of cultural resistance.
The realities chosen to participate were:

After an accurate analysis, the choice fell on Black Italy (Luca Ruali and Mata Tomasello Trifilò).
